Seeing as it's been hard to get Tim out of the house since his surgery I figured we were past due for a day trip. I did a quick search on Google Maps for nearby parks, and found Corbett's Glenn on there. It's one of the parks we hadn't been to yet, and what I could see online looked good. We packed up the bags, loaded the dog into the van, and spent a good 2 hours walking about. Below are some of the images Tim got, and the same items can be found on our Ebay page

Why I love dating a photographer
There's many reasons why I enjoy dating Tim as a person, but there's one main reason I LOVE dating a photographer. You see, Molly (my dog of 13 years) had to be put down recently. I look around the house and through our computer files to find pictures of her everywhere. Yes, there's pictures that I took of her, but they really don't compare. One simple truth is that Tim's camera has more mega pixels than mine, but he also just takes better photos. Having such vivid images of her is a huge comfort of me. Not just her sitting there, and he took the shot. He somehow managed to capture images where her personality simply jumps out at me. She's alive in his pictures, and I don't know how he did it. I have MILLIONS of photos I took of her before I even met Tim, but bottom line: it's not even close.
So, with surgery just 7 days away I'm finding a lot of comfort in this picture. That's our dog Bear who we were worried was going to be real trouble for me after my first surgery. That picture is the day of or the day after I got home from the hospital. He was soo gentle and loving. He's Tim's nurse assistant. The picture reminds me that I will be well taken care of and loved. Which, makes it a little less scary.

Photo of the day!
This black and white photograph of a barn in the snow is Marnie's photo of the day. It's very simple and elegant. I also think it's his only photo that might even be mistaken as a painting. Great job on the photography with all of the angles and the simple edit on it.

Fine Art America
Marnie posting again. I'm trying to fill this thing up since I just made it today, and it looks very empty. I also do want to let other artists out there know about a great resource I found.
Yes it's a way to try your art work, but there is more to it.I found a few local galleries that I had not known we had in the area. They have groups to join, contests to submit work to, and discussion threads. You can promote your new art in discussion, or ask your fellow artists a question about technique. I give it a thumbs up as a good resource for people trying to break into the art world.
Dog with an eye for photography
A few weeks ago it was a pretty nice weekend here in Rochester, NY. Unfortunately the weather had just finished melting all of our snow so the park were flooded. For that reason Marnie (me, posting now) decided we should take a walk around the Art District/Park Ave. While walking the dog stopped and turned around a corner finding us this gate. We never would have noticed it without him, and I happen to think it looks pretty creepy. Tim did a great job editing of course. Side note: being the dog walker on a muddy day left me covered waste down in spots of mud the dog kicked up at me. While the photographer, Tim, remained clean as a whistle.
